Langston Hughes wrote the poem "The Negro Speaks of Rivers" but what Langston wrote about cannot compare to what God has prepared for those that love Him! In the book of Revelations, the final chapter of the book, John the writer tells us just what God has planned for those who accept Jesus as Saviour. John vividly describes life in the new world and tells us this "Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb (The Lamb, Jesus, who sit on the right hand of God the Father) down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him. They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever." Rev 22:1-5 What a beautiful collection of scriptures that John uses to describe the garden of Eden Restored. Friends this place called heaven is real and God has prepared it for those that love Him. I would encourage everyone to read the book of Revelation, it's is the only book in the Bible that blesses the one that reads its. "Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near." Rev. 1:3
